Property Acquisition

Property Acquisition acquires fee simple interest and easement interests in real property needed to provide services, such as roads, utilities and parks, to the citizens of Manatee County. Property is acquired through purchase, donation, property exchange, and when required, eminent domain. For more information, visit Acquisitions.

Property Acquisition assists developers in dedicating right-of-way and easements as required by their Final Site Plan approval. For more information, visit Final Site Plan Dedications.

If a County department needs to lease a location in order to provide services to the community, Property Acquisition will identify potential locations and negotiate the lease with the landlord for the desired location. Additionally, Property Acquisition manages and negotiates the lease of County-owned property to outside agencies and organizations.

Property Acquisition is responsible for disposing of surplus property that has no County purpose in accordance with Florida Statutes and Manatee County Ordinance 14-26. For more information, visit Surplus Property.
