County Administrator Dr. Scott Hopes rounds out executive leadership team with appointment of Deputy Administrators Brewer, Bishop
MANATEE COUNTY, FL (Aug. 10, 2021) – County Administrator Dr. Scott Hopes today rounded out his executive leadership team when County Commissioners unanimously approved the reclassification of longtime Property Management Director Charlie Bishop, who will become one of Dr. Hopes' Deputy County Administrators.
Bishop joins Karen Stewart, Robert Reinshuttle and Jan Brewer in the role of Deputy County Administrator. Last month Commissioners approved the reclassification of Jan Brewer from Financial Management Director to Deputy County Administrator & Chief Financial Officer.
Bishop is a third-generation military veteran. At 18 he joined the United States Air Force where served for more than 20 years and earned his Master's Degree in Public Administration. He joined Manatee County in 2001 as a Project Manager, and in 2002 earned his Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute. In addition to his role as a Project Manager, he has served as the Facilities Services Manager, Infrastructure Division Manager, Construction Services Division Manager, and, for almost 12 years, as the Director of Property Management. As Deputy County Administrator he has responsibility the for the departments of Building and Development Services, Public Works and Property Management.
Jan Brewer now oversees both the Financial Management, Information Technology and Human Resources departments. She holds two Bachelor's degrees in Accounting and Finance from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. She has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) with an Accounting Concentration from Florida Southern College. She has been a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Florida for 32 years and holds the designation from the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts of CGMA which is a Charter Global Management Accountant since its establishment.
