Residential Tree Removal

Street trees are required trees planted within 25 feet of the right of way along the frontage of single family homes within residential developments approved after October 15,1990.

Manatee County does not require a permit to replace required street trees. Follow the Replacement Tree Requirements as provided in the following section.

You do not need authorization to remove or replace a tree in your private back or side yard. However, residents cannot remove trees that are within the approved Greenbelt Buffer that is part of the common area that the HOA is responsible for, or trees within Conservation Areas.

Please call Environmental Field Inspections at (941)748-4501 Ext 6895 with any questions.

Need a dead tree removed from the right of way or a tree trimmed that's blocking access or visibility? Report the issue to Public Works.
