Manatee County to host Jan. 22 meeting for local nonprofits wishing to apply for human services, healthcare & Children's Services grants
MANATEE COUNTY, FL (Dec. 18, 2020) – Manatee County will host a Jan. 22 meeting to help local non-profit agencies interested in applying for human services grants to assist Manatee County residents.

Department representatives will provide information on the funding applications and answer questions related to the application process. Applicants must be non-profit agencies that are recognized as tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code.
Jan. 22 is also the opening of a six-week application period for local non-profits to apply for funding through the Children’s Services Dedicated Millage to help disadvantaged children and their families in the community, as well as from the County’s General Revenue Fund to assist adult residents with health or other service needs within Manatee County.
The new online application for Fiscal Year 21/22 is results-based. Each question has both guidance and examples within the application, readily available to applicants. Investments are awarded on a competitive basis and the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners determines the amount available each year. County assistance programs are paid on a reimbursement basis, contingent upon the successful completion of the project, the results (human gain) and fully meeting the requirements of the investment agreement.
