Manatee County accepting applications for NAACP seat on Children's Services Advisory Board

MANATEE COUNTY, FL (Sept. 20, 2018) – Manatee County is accepting applications for the NAACP-designated seat on the Children’s Services Advisory Board (CSAB). The volunteer board makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on the priorities and expenditures of the County’s dedicated millage for children’s services.

The vacant seat must be filled by a member of the NAACP. The representative will be appointed for a two-year term that ends September 30, 2020.

To qualify for consideration, applicants must be a resident of Manatee County. Employees, owners or voting board members of agencies that receive funding from Manatee County, or individuals that contract with agencies that receive County funding, will not be considered to serve as a representative on this advisory board.

Applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5. Applications must include:

  • Advisory Board Application
  • Children’s Services Advisory Board Supplemental Questions (Page 4 of the Advisory Board Application)
  • A resume or a Curriculum Vitae (CV)

The CSAB meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 3 p.m. on the fourth floor of the Manatee County Administrative Center, 1112 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton. The board meets weekly during the annual program funding review process from April through early June; and a full day retreat in October each year.

Employees, owners or voting board members of agencies that receive funding from Manatee County, or individuals who contract with agencies that receive County funding, are not eligible to serve as a child advocate on this advisory board.
