Manatee County custodian Theresa Wunderlich named Manatee County 2019 Employee of the Year
MANATEE COUNTY, FL (Dec. 10, 2019) – She's the smiling face that keeps the County's Public Safety Center sparkling clean. Now custodian Theresa Wunderlich is also the County's Employee of the Year.
During their last regular meeting of the year, County Commissioners today recognized Theresa as one of Manatee County's hidden stars who uplifts everyone she meets at the PSC. Commissioners began the meeting by watching highlights of Theresa's work and the smile she brings to coworkers each day at the Public Safety Center.
Coworkers who nominated Theresa said she consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty, she's always friendly and cheerful and her work is superior and professional in every way.
Surrounded by her family today, Theresa told County Commissioners she was overwhelmed by the honor and she thanked Commissioners, the County Administrator, Property Management Director Charlie Bishop and more. Theresa called her supervisor Paula Pesmark the hardest working, most dedicated employee she knows.
"It’s truly an honor for me to be selected," Theresa told Commissioners. "A big thank you to the guys I work with in the (Public Safety Center). Without them, I wouldn't be able to do what I do and they really bring out the best in me. And thank you Commissioners, for recognizing that everybody’s work matters!"
"We’re all very proud of you," said County Commissioner Misty Servia. "It’s especially nice to recognize someone who exudes such happiness and positivity because that affects everyone around you."
