MANATEE COUNTY, FL (May 9, 2024) – The Manatee County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has named Pamela D’Agostino as the new County Attorney, effective this week. She replaces Bill Clague, who retired in March.
“I look forward to working with all of you,” she said, thanking the board for its support. “And helping the good citizens and representing this great county.”
D’Agostino rejoins the County after a short tenure as General Counsel with the Manatee County School District. Before starting that position in July 2023, she had previously served as an Assistant County Attorney for the Manatee County Attorney’s Office from 2015.
In that role she provided advice and counsel to the Board of County Commissioners, County Administrator and staff; assisted the County Administrator and senior managers with the development of administrative policies and procedures which comply with laws, due process and other relevant legal concerns; drafted and assisted in negotiating leases, contracts and similar documents; and litigated and defended eminent domain and real property cases in State court on behalf of the County.
“She was already part of the family one time,” said Commission Chair Mike Rahn. “We appreciate the knowledge she has. The staff already knows her. She’s going to step right in and do a great job.”
From 2007 to 2015, D’Agostino served as an Assistant State Attorney for the Office of State Attorney in Bradenton. In that role, she prosecuted violent felony offenses and managed a caseload of an average of 150 cases, from October 2009 to February 2013, and provided education and training to law enforcement on domestic violence prosecution and case law.
She received her Juris Doctor (JD) degree from Stetson University College of Law in May 2007.
