Manatee County Seeks Non-Profit Applications for Adult Human Services and Children’s Services

MANATEE COUNTY, FL (Nov. 18, 2024) – Manatee County is partnering with community organizations that serve abused, neglected, at-risk, and economically disadvantaged adults and children.

The county is seeking applications for Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) which begins Oct. 1, 2025, investment dollars through Manatee County Government’s Children’s Services Millage. Categories of service for the nonprofit groups can include:
• Early Care & Education Food & Shelter
• Mental & Physical Health
• Special Needs
• Stabilizing Families & Parent Education
• Youth Development & Success
An informational meeting on the application and funding process for consideration of investment through the Children's Services millage will be held at the Lakewood Ranch Library (16410 Rangeland Pkwy., Lakewood Ranch) on Friday, Dec. 6, 2023, at 9:30 a.m.

Applications for consideration in the Children’s Services millage programs will be available online beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024. Submissions are due by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025.

Manatee County also allocates funding for Adult Human Services programs specifically designed to address the distinct needs of individuals, thereby enhancing their quality of life. These targeted Adult Human Services programs are designed to support specific populations, including the elderly, individuals with disabilities, those involved in the criminal justice system, and other vulnerable groups requiring assistance. These programs aim to provide essential resources and services tailored to the unique needs of these individuals, promoting their well-being and integration into society.

The county is currently inviting applications for FY26, which will commence on Oct. 1, 2025, for these investment opportunities. The categories of services that the county is prioritizing for funding include the following areas:

• Aging Services
• Career, Education, and Employment
• Criminal Justice Diversion
• Disability Services and
• Legal Assistance
An informational meeting regarding the application and funding process for investment consideration through Adult Human Services will take place at the Lakewood Ranch Library (16410 Rangeland Pkwy., Lakewood Ranch) on Friday, Dec. 6, 2024, at 10:30 a.m.

Applications for consideration in the Adult Human Services Investments program will be available online beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, 2024. Submissions are due by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025.
