MANATEE COUNTY, FL (February 25, 2025) – The long-awaited Parrish Community Park is opening Friday, March 7.
Residents are invited to share in the excitement of this community amenity located at 7550 Fort Hamer Rd. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony starting at 5 p.m., followed by an evening of family fun.
“We are excited to welcome our neighbors to this wonderful park,” said District 1 Commissioner Carol Ann Felts. “This is a great place to come together as a community.”
With its inclusive design and thoughtful amenities, the park aims to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for families to gather, play, and relax. The park includes a boardwalk, playgrounds, picnic shelters, a splash pad, and other features.
A 120' by 120' shade structure and event lawn will host festivals, plays and local musicians. In fact, the grand-opening will coincide with the kickoff of the 2025 Manatee Music Series, featuring free shows by local artists at the Parrish amphitheater, as well at the GT Bray amphitheater through mid-May. The Rye Road Band (presented by Blue Collar Roofing), will begin their performance at 6 p.m.
