Non-Profit Funding Applications Open December 6

MANATEE COUNTY, FL (November 21, 2023) – The 2024/25 application period for non-profit agencies interested in applying for human resources grants to assist Manatee residents will open on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at 3:00 p.m.

The Children and Adult Human Services sections of Manatee County’s Community and Veterans Services Department and the Health Services section of the Public Safety Department invest in programs through the Children’s Services Dedicated Millage to help disadvantaged children and families in the community, as well as from the General Revenue Fund to assist adult residents or provide other services throughout Manatee County.

For consideration of investments for funding, applicants must meet the general eligibility requirements below:

  • Serve residents of Manatee County
  • Be recognized as a corporation under the State of Florida
  • Be tax exempt per the Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3)
  • Provide proof of sufficient insurance coverage
  • Provide financial audit or compilation by an independent auditor certified in the State of Florida
Specific to non-profit organizations that serve abused, neglected, at-risk, and economically disadvantaged children, Children’s Services Millage categories of service include but are not limited to the following:

  • Early Care & Education
  • Food & Shelter
  • Mental & Physical Health
  • Special Needs
  • Stabilizing Families & Parent Education
  • Youth Development & Success

Investment amounts are determined by the Manatee Board of County Commissioners and are awarded competitively. Programs are reimbursed, contingent upon the successful completion of the project, the results (human gain) and achieving the requirements listed in the investment agreement.

Wednesday, December 6, 2023, 9:00 a.m., Lakewood Ranch Chamber of Commerce, 4215 Concept Court. The presentation will be posted online by 5:00 p.m. Friday, December 8.

Adult Health Services

A targeted information session for Adult Health Services will be held at the Public Safety Center at 2101 47th Terrace East, Bradenton, 34203, on Friday, December 8, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. Agencies providing services in the following categories are invited to attend:

  • Adult Healthcare and Public Health
  • Adult Mental and Behavioral Health (including substance use disorder)
  • Adult Homeless Services
